Helping Heroes – the 501(c) charitable organization dedicated to raising awareness for POW-MIA and providing aid, comfort, and material support to veterans, first responders, and their families – today announced it will partner with Team Unbroken, the Men’s Varsity A Softball Team. Team Unbroken is made up of a majority of veterans and active duty servicemembers diagnosed with mental health issues, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI),or other conditions as well as many being permanently disabled because of their military service.
This unique partnership is a critical component to the journey these men are taking in their post-military lives and serves as a reminder to the thousands of veterans who struggle with PTSD as well as other conditions that their brothers and sisters in arms support them. Helping Heroes created the #ICHOOSETOLIVE campaign to empower veterans like those on Team Unbroken to find something in their lives that encourages them to carry on.
Team Unbroken has 20 veterans and active duty servicemembers from across all branches of the military and communities throughout the country are hoping to make a splash at the 30th Annual Military Band-Aid Tournament to raise awareness of mental health issues as they compete against their brothers and sisters in arms.
Although recently formed, Team Unbroken is already making a positive impact in the lives of veterans across the nation by serving as ambassadors for this noble cause and highlighting the challenges that veterans face. So come out and cheer on 72 likeminded teams that will leave it all on the field during the tournament in Colorado Springs, CO. Team Unbroken will be participating numerous other tournaments across the nation to include Military Worlds in Viera, Florida in September 2021, as well as the All-World Sports (AWS) in Las Vegas, Nevada in December 2021.
Helping Heroes was established to raise funds and awareness for the relief of poor, distressed, or underprivileged active military service members, veterans of the armed forces, civilian first responders, and their families – and to support the POW-MIA awareness campaign. Every day, these heroes put their lives on the line at home and abroad to protect and preserve the America we love, and Helping Heroes travels the country to honor and support them through local, regional, and national campaigns. The group also strategically connects with like-minded, cause-driven partners like Team Unbroken to further promote its mission.
